I am a 30+ year veteran in the field of Home Health/Home Care, Care Coordination services, and an Aging Advocate in the State of Georgia.
The first 15+ years of my career I worked at Health Care Services, Inc. The last 5 years, I served in the capacity of Operations Manager of the Home Care Division and a member of the Board of Directors for the company.
As part of my responsibilities in Marketing, I chaired the Golf Tournament Committee which held an annual tournament to donate funds to charities in the CSRA. In our inaugural year, we made a donation of $10,000 to the Children’s Medical Center in its infancy to help facilitate the building and opening of the Children’s Hospital for the CSRA.
In 1998, I started Quality Healthcare Services, Inc., which I co-owned for 8 years. QHS provided skilled nursing and home care aide services to veterans and other frail, elderly, and disabled individuals in the CSRA, North Georgia.
QHS partnered with several agencies to support the elderly and disabled community with support services, financial support, and to participate in program and policy development, and to advocate with local and state officials to promote funding for local and state funding and to promote for policies to support the community from additional needed programs, Elder Rights, and to promote community awareness of services provided locally and statewide.
Partnering agencies include:
- Aging Disability Resource Connection/Area Agency on Aging – served on the Advisory Council, on several committees within the organization
- The Senior Citizens Council of Greater Augusta
- The CSRA Elder Rights Committee
- Coalition of Advocates for Georgia’s Elderly (state and local)
- Georgia Gerontology Society
- Georgia Association of Community Care Programs
- Augusta Care Network
- CCSP Provider Network
After selling Quality Healthcare Services, I went back to school to further my education and obtain a degree as a Registered Nurse, BSN, at Augusta State University. I graduated in May 2012. I served as Class President for the graduating nursing class of 2012.
After graduating from Augusta State University, I was employed at the VA Medical Center from 10/12 to 12/12 in the Spinal Cord Unit, where I provided skilled nursing services to Veterans of the Military who suffered a myriad of spinal cord and other injuries while serving in the armed services.
In 1/13, I was hired as the Director of Operations and Programming at Sabea, LLC. Sabea was a private case management company providing case management services to frail, elderly, and disabled individuals in the CSRA.
I started Strong Case Management from 6/13 to 11/16, where I provided case management services to people with physical disabilities under the Independent Care Waiver Program, a Medicaid-funded waiver program through the State of Georgia.
In 11/16, I left Sabea and closed Strong Case Management to start Quality In Home Care. We formally began operations on 1/17 to the present. QIHC provides skilled nursing and home care aide services to veterans and other frail, elderly, and disabled individuals in the CSRA.
